Once upon a time two lovers started making ceramics together
They moved from Venice Beach to Mariposa to set up a ceramics studio and start a family
It all began in November of 2018.
With their pups at their side, Thomas asked Vanessa to marry him, under a canopy of Bougainvillea in their backyard garden in Venice Beach.
The following summer, Thomas and Vanessa joined the ceramics workshop series at the Temple of Mediclaytion in Venice Beach, California under the instruction of Patrick Johnston. This is where their passion for play with clay began! They continued working at the studio after the 6 weeks of workshops concluded. Thomas even began to assist Patrick as a junior-teacher in his workshops.
In 2020, in the midst of the pandemic, Thomas and Vanessa got a wheel and electric kiln for their home and created a backyard studio. They continued to produce beautiful products and sold them at the magical local marketplace Late Sunday Afternoon where Thomas was working as Creative Director.
At the end of 2020, Thomas and Vanessa started looking for a place they could expand their studio and start their family. They found a beautiful property in the foothills of the Sierras on 20 acres for sale that they fell in love with in Mariposa California. They ended up qualifying for the property and closed on the sale in January of 2021. Taking the leap to leave LA and transition from their lives there was a big transformative process.
On the new property, there was a large barn which was a perfect location for a ceramics studio! This is where their new collection of products are being produced.
On June 24th, 2021 the couple married at the Butterfly Creek Winery on Triangle Road in Mariposa! It was a small ceremony outside the chapel in the vineyard under a big beautiful mulberry tree.
Thomas and Vanessa are now settled into their new life in Mariposa where they are working on ceramics as well as consulting + providing creative direction for new clients in the cannabis space and beyond.
They are expecting a baby girl in April of 2022 and are so excited that their intentions to start a family are becoming a reality.
